Regional Impact Experience

Project:  Highlands DRI
Client: Crapps Realty
Location:  Clay County, Florida

Highlands is a 2,800± acre Development of Regional Impact (DRI) comprising a residential community with a Village Center, recreation complex, school sites, commercial and industrial parcels. ERS has been involved in the preparation and submittal of the DRI Application for Development Approval (ADA) to address questions regarding wetlands and wildlife. ERS has also conducted wildlife surveys and coordinated with the regulatory agencies with regard to protected species, and has also conducted collaborative inter-agency efforts to develop a sustainable development plan.

Project:  Three Rivers DRI
Client: Ambach Communities
Location:  Nassau County, Florida

The Three Rivers project comprises a 1,600± acre Development of Regional Impact (DRI) that includes residential communities, public educational institutions, commercial and industrial facilities, and conservation land. Large tracts of wetland and upland preservation are proposed where past silvicultural activities have altered historical conditions. ERS has been involved in the all phases of development of the project, from the pre-application phase issuance of the Development Order for the DRI, and is responsible for environmental permitting efforts with the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) and U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. ERS is currently finalizing a Jurisdictional Declaratory Statement with SJRWMD and has also conducted extensive wildlife surveys on the property.

Project:  Twin Creeks DRI
Client: Falcon South Jacksonville Properties, LLC
Location:  St. Johns County, Florida

Twin Creeks comprises a 3,050± acre Development of Regional Impact (DRI) that includes residential communities, public educational institutions, commercial and industrial facilities, and conservation land. Large tracts of wetland enhancement are proposed where past silvicultural activities have altered historical conditions. ERS has been involved in the all phases of development of the project, from the pre-application phase to issuance of the Development Order for the DRI, and throughout environmental permitting efforts with the St. Johns River Water Management District, U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, and St. Johns County. ERS also conducted wildlife surveys and permitting necessary to acquire all agency approvals.

Project:  Venetian Bay DRI
Client: DMW Consulting Group, Inc.
Location:  Volusia County, Florida

Venetian Bay is a 1,000± acre Development of Regional Impact (DRI) comprising a residential community with an 18-hole golf course and a commercial tract.  ERS has been involved in the wetland delineation and jurisdictional determination of wetlands with the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the overall DRI. ERS has also coordinated and conducted the installation of 304 ground water elevation monitoring wells in accordance with SJRWMD permit specifications.  ERS prepared the well installation reports associated with those installations and the monitoring report template provided for the client's use.

Project:  Saratoga Springs DRI
Client: Landmar
Location:  Clay County, Florida

The Saratoga Springs project comprises a 2,400± acre Development of Regional Impact (DRI) that includes residential communities, public educational institutions, commercial and industrial facilities, and conservation land.   Large tracts of wetlands and uplands associated with Peters Creek and its tributaries are slated for perpetual preservation.   ERS has been involved in the all phases of development of the project, from the pre-application phase to issuance of the Development Order for the DRI, and is responsible for environmental permitting efforts with the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) and U. S. Army Corps of Engineers.   ERS delineated the on-site jurisdictional wetlands, and secured a Jurisdictional Declaratory Statement from SJRWMD. ERS also conducted wildlife surveys and permitting necessary to acquire all agency approvals, including a gopher tortoise survey and successful permitting effort with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
